“Women of Messiah”
includes all ladies who worship at Messiah. There is a small committee who plans opportunities for service and fellowship. The committee has two main meetings each year—August and January. The following are activities sponsored by this group:
Lutheran World Relief School Kits
coordinate collection of items for school kits, planning for assembly of those kits on Rally Day, and delivering the finished kits to a local collection point (biennial collection)
Thanksgiving Pies for Meet & Greet
provide pumpkin pies and whipped cream for pre-Thanksgiving Meet & Greet or support pre-Thanksgiving Meet & Greet meal
College Student Ministry
coordinate “adopting” a Messiah college student (sending greeting cards & notes and sending a gift card at Christmas)
Lenten Wednesday Soup Night
provide soup, bread, and drinks for one of the Wednesday Lenten Nights
Thankoffering
provide Thankoffering jars and information on the program/need being supported that year (jars/money/checks collected on Thankoffering Sunday, usually in May)
Fellowship Opportunities
plan gatherings for women such as a yearly fall luncheon, Christmas Craft Workshop, Prayer Breakfast (and possible revival of the Prayer Shawl/Craft Get-togethers)
